He was predeceased by: his parents, George Richards and Velda Smith Richards; his wife Carolyn Wigal Richards; his sons, Bill and Michael Richards; his brother Cecil Wigal; and his brother-in-law Dana McAtee.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Nichols and Kathi Arthur; his sister Ann Schied; and his sister-in-law Lois McAtee. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
