He is survived by : his children, Robyn Thompson (Kent) of East Sparta, Jennifer Carter of Cygnet and James Carter, Jr. (Carla) of Bloomdale; his sister Dorothy Ziegler of Kenton; and his grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Cade Carter, Lucy Jo Thompson, Caroline Thompson, Erin Thompson (Andrew), Emily Thompson (Charlie) and Nathaniel Thompson.
