She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Samuels and Willa Samuels; her siblings, Janice Samuels and Charles Samuels; her former husband John Ward; and her granddaughter Christian Ward.
She is survived by: her stepson Antoine Harrison; her children, Sequoia Richardson, Jackie Gaines (Bruce Gaines), John Ward Jr. and Christopher Ward; and her siblings, Diana Samuels-Gilford, Sharon Samuels and David Samuels. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
