He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Smith and Gertrude Smith; his wife Carole Rodgers Smith; his girlfriend Darlene Shepherd; and his son Billy G. Smith, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Vicki Smith, Joey Smith, Tricia Smith (Louie Zinzigk), Christina Shepherd and Amber Shepherd; his close friend Bill Fessenden; his friend Jason Fessenden; and his pets, Bailey and Buster. He is also survived by his seven grandsons; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.
