He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Combs; his parents, George Combs and Stella Combs; his siblings, Otis Combs, Wendell Combs, Juanita Terry and Georgia Combs Kenyon; his stepdaughter Rebecca Brainard; his granddaughter Julienne Combs; and his stepgranddaughter Brittney Ward.
He is survived by: his sons, George Combs (Teresa) and Howard Douglas Combs (Annette); his stepchildren, Susan Macnamara and Steven Liles (Maria); his sister Louise Williams; his nephew Mark Magee (Mollie); and his friend Wanda James. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and had many great-grandchildren.
