He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Kelley and Marie Kelley; and his sister Marsha Wright. He is survived by: his brother David Kelley; his children, Heather Lankford (James) and Luke Kelley; and his grandchildren, Tyler Kelley (Melissa), Adam Lankford (Kari), Megan Lankford, Brenna Lankford and Lauren Lankford.

The family would like memorials be directed to Topsail Baptist Church.
