Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Carrie Poteet (Dayton, Ohio), born in Pennington Gap, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 97, on July 28, 2024. As we bid Carrie farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Carrie is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was predeceased by: her husband Harold; her parents, John Kirk and Lula Kirk (Parsons); her son Ronald Poteet; and her siblings, Elma Daugherty and Baylor Kirk.

She is survived by: her son Roger Poteet. She is also survived by numerous extended family and dear friends.
