With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cheryl Short (Dayton, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 22, 2025 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Cheryl Short to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert E. Criss and Mary Lou Markham; her husband Estill "Luke" Short, Jr.; and her grandson Will Krueger. She is survived by: her children, Bill Krueger (Amy) of Kettering and Anne Sander (Mike) of Monroe, Ohio.; her grandchildren, Sammie Sander, Matt Sander (Liz), Drew Krueger (Katie) and David Sander; and her sisters, Eileen Buddie (Len) and Amy Yackee (Bruce). She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton, an organization that provided compassionate care that Cheryl valued deeply.
