She is survived by: her husband Danny Sammons; her children, Joe Lewis (Michelle), Carla George (Tim), Heather Emery, Tiffany Emery (Dustin), Daisy Walden and Daniel Sammons (Lizzy); her grandchildren, Shelby Lewis, Brandon George, Tyler Lewis, Cara Rillo-Grant (Sean), Brandon Emery, Ayden Emery, Dustin Tucker Jr., Timmy Tucker, Richard Serrer, Walter Bailey and Maddie Sammons; her great grandchildren, Ella, Jonah, Levi, Payslee, Rilyne and Charlee; her brother Carl "Tootie" Plummer Jr. (Barb); her nieces, Missy Fisher and Beth Plummer; her nephew Raymond "Little Ray" Plummer Jr.; and her close friend Shelly Tiley. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428).
Contributions may be made in Darlene's memory to the American Heart Association or to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
