He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kouns and Peggy Kouns; his siblings, Jimmy, Mick, Bud and Peggy Lou; his sons, David and Darrell; and his grandson Bryan.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Kouns; his daughters, Anita Ruja (Jim) and Carolyn O'Meara (Kevin); his granddaughter Sonya Parries (Will); and his pet Ruby. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in David's honor.
