He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald E. Mescher and Elaine M. Mescher (Gibboney); his sister Diana Norman; and his mother-in-law Joyce Wells Ehrhart. He is survived by: his wife Shannon Mescher (Champion); his daughters, Allison Butler (Eric) and Abigail Mescher; his grandsons, Luca and Theo Butler; his brothers, Rick Mescher (Krista), Dale Mescher, William Champion (Rebecca) and Isaac Grooms; his father-in-law James Champion; and his sister Rhee LaFountain (Dan). He is also survived by 13 foster children and many nieces and nephews.
