He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ervin and Mary Livingston (Ervin). He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa (Jason) and Courtney; and his granddaughters, Jorden (Sean) and Jalen. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends.
He authored several books, including "Step by Step: The Story of the Rev. Fred L. Shuttlesworth", detailing Shuttlesworth's contribution to the civil rights movement, along with "Meditations and Reflections", which translates complex theological concepts into simple language to help youth and adults navigate doubts they may have about faith.
