He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thomas and Rita Barbara Mary McElroy (Mackert); and his siblings, Richard Thomas McElroy, Jr., John Aloysius McElroy, Thomas William McElroy and Patricia Louise McElroy.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy McElroy (Kitchen); his son Daniel Russell McElroy (Samantha); his siblings, Barbara Rita Estep, Mary Ellen Weathers, James Ford McElroy (Beverly) and Teresa Elizabeth Noonan (Mike); and his grandchildren, Madison Jane, David Russell and Ethan Edward McElroy.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society or Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
