He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Stamper and Zetta Stamper; his wife Melisa Stamper; and his siblings, Dewey Stamper, Roy Stamper Jr., Charlene Rogers and Judy Stamper.

He is survived by: his children, David Asher (Nakina), Ashley Stafford (Kyle) and James Stamper Jr.; his grandchildren, Natalie, Olivia and Ellis; and his sister Delores McCullah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
