With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florene Johnson in Dayton, Ohio, born in West Liberty, Kentucky, who passed away on June 4, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Florene may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Florene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Blankenship and Artie Blankenship (Cox). She is survived by: her daughter Loretta Denney (James); her grandchildren, Lisa Simmons (Michael), Michael Padilla (Lora) and Megan James (Buddy); and her brother Bernal Blankenship (Diane). She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren;1 great great grandson.
