He is survived by: his children, Dorian King, Mychael King, Adam King (Nora Beltran) and Emma King Roby (Donovan); his siblings, Kyle King (Julie) and Sharon King-Roberts; his cousin Lisa Butner; his close friends, Sue Green and Shafer Suggs; and his son Garland Marc King. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.

“I met Garland at the Park District building in Sandwich Il. he was signing up his children for Basketball. We spoke for quite a while and ended up being friends. We coached together, drank beer in his living room overlooking the lake and talked basketball for hours. A true friend and loving father, I will miss you young man.
