He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Slyder and Mary Ann Slyder (Zugelder); and his brother Dennis Slyder. He is survived by: his wife Paula Sue (Reighley); his sons, James Lee Slyder (Theresa) and Andrew Michael Slyder; his siblings, Ralph Slyder (Donna) of Medina, Pam Cleveland (Grover) of Beavercreek, Sandy Spurr of Kettering and Candice Honaker (Randy) of Centerville; his grandchildren, Kara Marie Slyder, Riley Nikole Slyder, Paula (Jim), Chase Slyder (Pashia), Troy Slyder, Anthony Pratt and Tanner Slyder; and his great grandchildren, Emerson Slyder and Kaison Pratt. He is also survived by golden anniversary with family and friends.
