He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Phillips and Rebecca Taylor Phillips; his siblings, Alberta, Alvin and Allen Phillips; his sons, Kim, Michael and Eric Phillips; his grandsons, Tyron Trammell Jr. and D'Laquan Phillips; and his great grandchild Xiamora Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, James Jr., Andre (Londie), Derrick (Tawana), Shawn, Tyrone Sr. (Eunice), Kayode Sr., Stanley (Tammy), Joseph and Sandra (Marc); his daughter-in-law Carletta; his siblings-in-law, Ronald Farmer, Michael Farmer, Ruby Phillips, Shirley Trammell, Sarah Westmoreland and Edwina Farmer; and his close friends, Michael (Stephanie), Caron Guthrie, Shirley Combs and Peggy Miller. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
