He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sunderland Heitz and Helen Root Gardiner; his sister Terry Heitz Rogers; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Rogers and Fran Heitz.
He is survived by: his wife Laura McGinnis Heitz; his children, Ahtie Heitz (Sara Cott), Trevor Heitz (Kathy Krupa) and Hannah Heitz (Kyle Cunningham); and his brother Jeff Heitz.
