It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan E. Payne (Dayton, Ohio), who passed away on April 13, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sons, George Payne and Gerald L. Payne; her granddaughter Larhonda D. Payne; her daughter-in-law Doris Payne (Virginia); her siblings, Sallie Anderson, Jennie Bradfield, Bettie Garvin and Ronald L. Wright; and her cousin Anita Moore.

She is survived by: her children, Kenneth E. Payne of Hampton, Virginia, Sharon E. Payne and Darryl A. Payne; her siblings, Eleanor Stewart of Denver Colorado and Richard T. Wright of Dayton; her daughter-in-law Cynthia L. Payne; her grandchildren, Sharonda Smith (Jason), Ericka N. Payne, Nawana Y. Waller (Carlus), Virginia, Kenny E. Payne, Gerald Marcus Payne (Jenez), Glenna R. Dancy (Darryl), Jasmine E. Jones (Cecil), Antonio Glass, Daryl Glass and Antonio Payne (Latoya); and her friends, Alice Heard, Jackie Montgomery and Louise Battle. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
