He is survived by: his son Joseph E. Howard Jr. (Kasey Durig); his granddaughter Kristen Kimberly Howard; his siblings, Gene Howard, Maria Hensley (Charles) and Lela McNeely; and his close friend Jewel Maybe. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, twenty great nieces and nephews, one great great nephew, as well as many friends and coworkers.
