He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond J. Cox and Mary Ellen Cox (Mattis). He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Kay" Cox; his children, Jennifer McGuinness (Troy), Elizabeth Cox (Jackie Ruiz) and Lee Cox (Diana); his brother Gary Cox; and his grandchildren, Trevor (Avery), Kathryn, Ean McGuinness, Hunter, Carter Cox and Stephanie Ruiz.
