She was predeceased by: her former husband Mose Cannon; her husband Jesse Mathews; and her parents, Roy McCarter and Inez McCarter. She is survived by: her brothers, Roy McCarter, Jr., David McCarter and Paul McCarter; her friend Terisa Williams; and her cousin Rev. Lewis McCarter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
