She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Florence Gassner (Knuepfer) and Louis Gassner; her father-in-law Alexander Saharoff; her adoptive father Alexander; her husband Carl William Heffner; her cousin William Roll, MD; her children, Dan Heffner (Laurel), Rob Heffner (Margot), Karen VanHouten (Jay) and Barb Zimmerman (Lee); her grandchildren, Todd Heffner (Yvonne), Alix VanHouten (Stevie), Sam VanHouten (Stephanie), Jenna Chu (Jack), Emily Zimmer (Rob), Abby Weese (Mark), Anna Kahut (Ben) and Mira Hermanson (Kyle); her friend Martini; and her sister Mary Bosnyak. She was also cherished by 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center or to Day City Hospice.
