With sadness, we share the passing of Melinda Susanne Tom Anderson of Dayton, Ohio. Melinda, born on November 13, 1992, passed away on August 31, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Melinda for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. Melinda’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.
She is survived by: her parents, Tony Tom and Karen Tom; her husband Evan Dean Anderson; her pet Ripley Anderson; her brother Andy; and her cousins, Marial, Steven and Patrick. She is also survived by numerous other family members and many friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the McMurrough Funeral Chapel (101 Park Pl, Libertyville, IL 60048). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Melinda requested mourners donate to their local blood bank to help offset the 51 units of packed red blood cells and 65 units of apheresis platelets she received during the course of her leukemia treatment. She also endorsed donations to acute leukemia research through Blood Cancer United, and to Wright-Way Rescue animal shelter in Morton Grove, IL.
