Michael H. Barnes Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael H. Barnes (Dayton, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Michael is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Michael's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace C. Barnes and Corlin Barnes (Wethern); his sister Barb Anderson (Barnes); and his friend Ann Heller. He is survived by: his sister Pat (Rick Decoster); and his nieces and nephews, Shelly Cornell, Paula (Jeff Troumbly), Angie (Derek Vekich), Sherry Imbrogna, Dan Anderson (Rhaya) and Ken Decoster (Sarah). He is also survived by 14 grandnieces and nephews, and 5 great-grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton, honoring Mike's memory and the compassionate care he received.
