Oscar Billingsley Obituary
Age 86, of Dayton, departed this life on Friday, February 20, 2015. Oscar graduated from RCTS High School in Roanoke, Alabama. He served his country in the Korean War until he was honorably discharged. He united with the Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Thomas D. Howard, where he attended services regularly until ill-health caused his activities to cease.
Oscar was also a member of the West Dayton Club. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna (Taylor) Billingsley; step-son, Stephen Johnson; sister, Mamie Billingsley and a brother, Jimmie Billingsley. He leaves to cherish his memories: step-daughter, Patricia Hill; step-son, Ronnie Taylor of Dayton, OH; (3) sisters, Eva Ector, Annie Marsh and Jessie Billingsley; (2) brothers, Willie (Deborah) Billingsley and Roosevelt Billingsley; aunt, Annie Sawyer, all of Dayton, OH; (6) grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors in his community, too numerous to name.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., TUESDAY, March 3, 2015 at MT. ENON MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1501 W. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, with Pastor Cory J. Pruitt, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment: Dayton National Cemetery.
