He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Pollard and Pauline Pollard; his son Eric Carman Sr.; his siblings, Joe, Alvin, James, Robert, Mildred, Laverne and Pauline (Velma); and his close friend Charles Diggs.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Pollard; and his children, Angelette Crumble, Mandell R. Pollard and Paul A. Pollard (Bobbi). He is also survived by his children and 11 grandchildren, along with 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428).
