He was predeceased by: his parents, Rebecca Shafer and Karl Shafer. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Shafer; and his children, Mark Shafer (Maggie), Ken Craft (Ginny), Jodie Hineman (Steve), Wendy Wilson (Doug) and Jeff Wilson (Erika). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brukner Nature Center, In honor of Phillip's interest in preserving natural wildlife.
