He was predeceased by: his parents, Carson Bolden and Lucy Bolden; his wife Joan Sue Bolden; his children, James Dean Bolden, Larry Wayne Bolden and Linda Faye Ballinger; and his siblings, Vernie Seals, Billie Rosenbaum, Icie Harvey-Howard, Carl Bolden, James Bolden, Roy Bolden and Bessie Buell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Rueben Bolden (Joyce) and Shirley Collins; his daughter Donna Johnson (Mac Brinegar); his grandchildren, Brooke Macke (John), Lesley Moyer (Devin), Collin Bolden, Dillon Ballinger (Kathryn) and Amirah Ballinger; and his great grandchildren, Henry, Harrison, Hudson Macke, Rosalie, Blair Bolden, Conner and McKenna Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
