With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Ann Sonye of Dayton, Ohio, who passed away on May 5, 2026 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Wiles and Mary Wegerzyn Wiles; her husband Steve Sonye; her grandson Jonathan McGaughey; her brothers, Joseph and Jerome Wiles; and her sister-in-law Ruth Wiles.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Baldwin (Brian), Joan Sonye, Adela Smith (Wayne), Mary Francine Beach (Mike), Kathleen Lorello, Timothy Sonye, Jacqueline Blondin (Richard), Nicole Edwards (William), Eric Sonye and Anthony Sonye (Veronika); her grandchildren, Matthew McGaughey, Steven Lorello, Shawn Lorello, Anndee Edwards (Seth Restle), Keegan Sonye, Isabel Blondin, Billy Edwards, Niko Sonye, Paxton Sonye, Sofia Sonye, Adam Sonye and Olivija Sonye; her great grandchildren, Ella McGaughey, Ian McGaughey, Clayton McGaughey, Everleigh Restle, Kingsleigh Restle and Waverleigh Restle; and her friend Betsy Quinter.
