He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Ricotta and Pete Ricotta; his grandparents, Anthony, Charlotte Ciresi, Charles and Ethel Steler; and his uncle Clayton "Sonny" Loehn.

He is survived by: his daughters, Amber and Alainé (Aaron); his wife Patti; his siblings, Debbie Mellon (Scott) and Pete Ricotta (Tricia); and his nephews, Brandon Mellon (Nataly) and Jordan Mellon (Ashley). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
