Ruth Wiles Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Wiles (Dayton, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 7, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Dierkers and Catherine Dierkers (Fund); her sister Rita Dierkers; her brother-in-law Jerome Wiles; and her son-in-law Jeffrey L. Quirk.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph M. Wiles, Jr.; her friend Donna Edly; her brother Richard Dierkers; her sister-in-law Rita Sonye; her nieces and nephews, Diane Quirk, Edward Wiles (Margaret), Teresa Whitescarver (Richard), Thomas Wiles (Michelle) and Gary Wiles (Amy); her grandchildren, Michael Quirk (Alison Fuller), Katherine Vessel (Kevin), Abigail Merkle (Aaron), Joseph Wiles (Cecilia), Benjamin Wiles, Stephanie Wiles, Karlie Wiles, Nicolas Wiles, Rachel Wiles and Samuel Wiles; and her great grandchildren, William, James Quirk, Griffin Vessel, Eloise and Michael Merkle. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Later in life, Ruth was hired as the first employee of A Special Wish Foundation (ASW), helping families and their children to create wonderful memories during a difficult time in their lives.
