We announce the death of Ardis E. Bergman of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Albus and Maybelle Albus (Robertson); her husband Eugene A. Bergman; her daughter Mary Elizabeth Kieffer; her siblings, Arthur, Clayton, Paul and Patricia; and her grandsons, Mark Kieffer and Adam Kieffer.
She is survived by: her sons, David Kieffer, Kevin Kieffer (Rosie) and Robert Kieffer (Polly); her stepchildren, Theresa Peterman (Harold) and Bradley Bergman (Kathy); her grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Laura, Andrew, Joshua, Michael, Anna and Nora; and her great grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, Elizabeth, Ethan, John, Lienna, Matthew and McRory.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A prayer was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (510 Jackson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512).
