It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernard Sines of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Bernard departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Bernard. Though Bernard may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Sines and Mildred Sines (Leeth); his grandson Alex Ellert; and his sisters, Donnabelle Shock and Irene Stoufer.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Mae; and his children, David Sines (Carol), Cathy Harris (Jim) and Carol Keezer (Mike). He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 5 Step Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to VFW Post 3360, Defiance, St. Jude's Hospital, or Donor's Choice.
