He was predeceased by: his parents, Coit Black and Datey Black Sr. (Shindler); and his siblings, John Black, Susan Bacon and Tami Garber.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Sabel (Bill) of Findlay, Coit Anthony Black (Karin) of Defiance, Alison Preslan (Kevin) of Cleveland, Kendall Black of Defiance and Connor Black of Defiance; his grandchildren, C. Drew, Aubrey, William Black, Isaac, Alexander Sabel and Colin Preslan; and his sister Sheila Robinson of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his family and many good friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to Defiance Optimist Club, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
