He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Hostettler and Marie Hostettler (Wisda); and his siblings, John Hostettler and Pamela Marshall. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hostettler of Defiance; his children, Carla Hostettler (Mike Holman) of Defiance, Stephanie Khalife (Salim) of Dublin, OH, Bruce Hostettler of New Haven, IN, Susan Miller (Craig) of Defiance and Charissa Kroeckel (Steve) of Defiance; his grandchildren, Glenn Farison, Joseph Khalife, Amel Khalife, Mackenzie Hannie (Stanton), Elissa Baerlin and Josie Harruff (Dillon); and his siblings, Joann Dietrick of Defiance, Bill Hostettler (Brenda) of Defiance, Barbara Teats of Montpelier, Mike of Defiance and Mark Hostettler of Defiance. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (510 Jackson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512).
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Catholic Church or CHP Defiance Hospice.
