He was predeceased by: his parents, James Higgins and Peggy Higgins (Snider); his brother Randy Higgins; and his grandsons, Warrik Carteaux and Jacob Contreras-Higgins.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Higgins of Defiance; his children, David Contreras-Higgins, Jr. (Sarah) of Ft. Wayne, IN and Amanda Meisner (Gerald) of Hudson, MI.; and his siblings, Kevin Higgins (Lesia) of Defiance and Sue Stoll (Jim) of Florida. He is also survived by six granddaughters.
Memorials are suggested to Friends of Felines, CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
