She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert "Bill" Hashbarger and Mildred Hashbarger (Yetter); her husband Justin Mekus; her son Garry Mekus; her siblings, Erma Deters and Bob Hashbarger; and her godson Doug Hashbarger.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Mekus (Diana) of Defiance, Larry Mekus (Sue) of Venice, FL, Randy Mekus (Gwen) of Defiance, Gregory Mekus of Hamilton, IN and Diana Held (Jeff) of Palmetto, FL.; and her grandchildren, Danny Mekus, Michelle Boudreaux, Theresa Velazquez, Kim Mekus, Steven Mekus, Jennifer Moser, Penny Denomme, Drew Mekus, Colby Mekus, Ashley Hurst, Justin Mekus, Brittany Donaldson, Rebecca Mack and Kyle Donaldson. She is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the St Michael's Catholic Church Building Fund, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or CHP Defiance Area Hospice.
