He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Monnin and Josephine Monnin; his wife Julie Monnin; and his sisters, Joan Heider and Marilyn Schweickart.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Monnin, Jr. (Kelly) of Defiance, Brent Monnin (Nancy) of Medina, OH, Nicole Bryant of Poland, OH and Jeff Monnin (Angela) of Cincinnati, OH.; his grandchildren, Brittany (Connery), Alexis (Trent), Delaney (Derek), Joe, John, Janelle, Heidy, Vince, Kate, Harper and Gus; and his great grandchildren, Cayden, Jett, Carmen, Vienna, Theo and Walker.
A rosary was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (715 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512).
