Helen Janette Sauber Obituary

We bid farewell to Helen Janette Sauber of Defiance, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 7, 2025 at the age of 88. Helen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Arend and Elsie Arend (Gordon); her husband Robert Sauber; her siblings, Alma Mae Thornell (Bob), Donna Proxmire (Leonard), Herman Arend, Jr. (Eloise) and Russell Arend (Mary); and her daughter-in-law Sheila Sauber.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Richey (Gary) of Defiance, Robert Sauber of Defiance, Ed Sauber (Julie) of Defiance, Raymond Sauber (Stacy) of Defiance and Annette Tebbe (Dave) of Yoder, IN.; and her brother Ivan Arend (Pat) of Paulding, Ohio.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (510 Jackson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512).
