With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James E. Howard (Defiance, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 17, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James E. Howard to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald A. Howard and Dorothy Howard (Gillespie); his brother Alfred Howard; his grandsons, Jon Howard and Nathan Ripke; and his parents-in-law, Nile and Lenore Weible.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Ann Weible; his children, Patricia Rettig (Mark) of Streetsboro, OH, Donald Howard (Ginette) of Ridgefield, CT, Mary Ripke (Daniel) of Defiance and James Howard (Mary) of Defiance; and his sisters, Jane Zeller and Lea Ann Hayes (Jerry). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorial contributions can be made to Operation K.A.V.I.C to assign local veterans, Heartland Hospice or Trinity United Methodist Church.
