He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Retcher and Matilda Retcher (Stork); his former wife Alice Retcher (Goller); and his siblings, Wayne, Larry Retcher, Imogene Hoellrich and Thelma Gerken.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Retcher of Defiance; his children, Marvin Retcher (Penny) of Fremont, IN, Marty Retcher (Pam) of Defiance and Mary Alice Nagel (Rich) of Defiance; his stepchildren, Barbara Pasquara (Dan) of Waltham, MA, Robert Stites (Jena), William Stites (Heather) of Defiance and Thomas Stites (Kristen) of Sylvania; his grandchildren, Corey Nagel (Brooke), Kacee Weber (Eric), Cody Nagel (Savannah), Preston Retcher (Morgan) and Kara Retcher; his great grandchildren, Kolbyn, Kasyn, Kelbie Nagel, Aubree, Kaylee, Lanie, Kenzie Weber, Emmett Nagel, Addison and Avery Retcher; his stepgrandchildren, Vincent, Dana Pasquara, Piper, Lily, Dylon Stites, Mary Blue, Evan Brown, Callie Shaw, Dakota Jolly (Chris), Kiley Crannis, Weston, Izzy and Embree; and his stepgreat-grandson Callen Jolly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Stephen Lutheran Church (30304 New Bavaria Rd, Defiance, OH 43512).
Memorials are suggested to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Ayersville Athletic Boosters, or Defiance Senior Center.
