We announce the death of Robert Russell Hearne of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 84. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Edward and Cecelia Marie Hearne (Kroll); and his grandchildren, Bruce Hearne, Olivia and Hilary Hearne.
He is survived by: his children, Duane Hearne (Melinda), Nicholas Hearne (Paula), Robin Green (William), Russell Hearne (Angela) and Chris Hearne (Leslie); his grandchildren, Eric Hearne, Garrett Hearne, Lauren DeSmit (Hearne), Sara Hearne, Nathan Hearne, Emily Trono (Green), Ryan Green, Michael Green, Ethan Hearne, Braydon Hearne, Allison Hearne and Bailey Hearne; his great grandchildren, Amelia, Cyrus and Ellie Hearne; his wife Monica Hearne (Hesselschwardt); and his sister Lois Beyer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S Clinton St, Defiance, OH 43512). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
