With sadness, we share the passing of Rodney Appel of Defiance, Ohio. Rodney, born on February 13, 1936, passed away on June 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Appel and Fay Appel (Long); his wife Dorthy Sanders; his son Rex A. Appel; and his brother Chalmer Appel.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Appel (Teresa), Beverly Robinson (Mitch) and Barbara Donohoo (Dave); and his siblings, Paul Appel and Donna Volmer. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church in Stryker.
