It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherrell Lynn Meyer of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sherrell Lynn Meyer to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Volkert and Muriel M Volkert; her husband Raymond John Meyer; and her brother Michael Volkert. She is survived by : her children, John R. Meyer (Joan) of Tipp City and Tracey Backhaus (Gary) of Defiance; her grandchildren, David Hartman of Defiance, Andy Hartman (Amanda) of Alexandria, Breanna Richards (Kyle) of Defiance, Corey Backhaus of Defiance and Mikaela Meyer (Trey) of Arkansas; her great grandchildren, Tori Hartman, Gavin Hartman and Emilia Richards; her brother William Volkert; and her sister-in-law Gloria Volkert.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A rosary was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St Isidore Catholic Catholic Church - Delaware Bend (16428 Speaker Rd, Sherwood, OH 43556).

Memorials are suggested to the Ft Defiance Humane Society or American Red Cross.
