He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Held and Mary Held; his grandparents, George, Anna Held, George F., William Sr. and Florence Josephine Fronk; and his siblings-in-law, Orville "Bud" Cox, Kevin Cinelli and Rose Beth McCarthy Held.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jane Cox of Defiance, Juliet Held Mosier of Montpelier, Aimee Cinelli of Lake Linden, MI and Joseph Held Sr. of Copper City, MI; his great-niece Sydney Cruey of McClure; and his stepmother Rosalie Held.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (510 Jackson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
