He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Szumiesz and Anastasia Szumiesz (Karras). He is survived by: his wife Karen Maudine Craven; his sons, Anthony S. Szumiesz, Jr. (Peggy) of South Carolina and Kurt Szumiesz of Alaska; his stepchildren, Tammie R. Bernard (Butch) of Panama City, FL, James L. Oberle of Plain City, OH and Timothy S. Oberle of Delaware, OH; and his siblings, Peggy Szumiesz of Pensacola, FL and Eddie Szumiesz (Lucille) of Manchester, NH. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Anthony may be donated to any military foundation to assist present and former members of the United States military.
