He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Odell and Beatrice Odell (Oglesby); his grandson Mark Barley; his great grandchild Annabella Sagstetter; his brother Ronnie Odell; his brother-in-law Dave Thomas; and his friend Eddy Plummer.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Odell (Ellis); his children, Byron "Barney" Odell Jr. (Terri), Pam Eger (Ron), Sue Ellen Gabel (Ed), Becky O'Neil (Marty), Kathy, Mary Crawford, Elizabeth Broskie (Tim), Tina Hollingsworth (Felix) and Tiffany Stevens (Rob); his sisters, Ladonna Thomas and Cheryl Peckham (Bill); his sister-in-law Judy Odell; and his friends, Betty Plummer, Carol, Gene Ufferman, Byron, Sue Troyer and Lindsey. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
