He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Nelson Ratleff and Mary Fredetta Ratleff (Artis); his wife Carlan Jane Ratleff (Bayless); his daughter Melody Pierce Ratleff; his grandson Rollan Ratleff; his siblings, Betty Ratleff-Davis, Marilyn Sue Ratleff, Herbert Ratleff Jr. (Cylvia), William "Gus" Ratleff (Helen), John Ratleff, James Ratleff Sr. (Patricia), Charles Ratleff Sr. (Helga), Lawrence Ratleff Sr. (Norma Jean) and Ralph Ratleff Sr. (Ola); his parents-in-law, Delbert Bayless and Marjorie Bayless; and his siblings-in-law, Herschell, Kenny Bayless (Nazola) and Haydee Ratleff.
He is survived by: his sons, Louis Pierce and Russel Ratleff (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Chance Bentley (Tara), Daiton Ratleff, Landon Ratleff (Taysha), Kyann Cain (Julian) and Xavier Ratleff; his brother Howard Ratleff Sr.; and his siblings-in-law, David Bayless (Jodi) and Teresa Bayless-Kirk (Albert). He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and very close friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center (101 Valleyside Dr, Delaware, OH 43015). A prayer will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery (5035 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43015).
